ICRD takes part at UN Day of Freedom of the Press in Brussels
Under the auspices of the VUB, Difference Day was held at Bozar Brussels on the occasion of the UN Day of Freedom of the Press, 3rd of May.
The motto of the day was “speak freely, listen respectfully, because different opinions matter”.
Representative of the ICRD in Brussels, Sarhan Basem, took part in this event as a speaker in the panel discussion for ” Journalists in Exile Association” with participation of other journalists from Iran, Turkey, and Burundi. The discussion was about difference of journalism in home countries and in Belgium, and personal future journalistic future.
Sarhan spoke about his involvement with the ICRD emphasizing that the centre strives to raise the awareness on crucial issues in partnership with International media agencies, human rights organizations, parliaments, colleges, universities, etc.
Practically, Sarhan had meetings with some potential partners to plan joints activities with the ICRD in the nearest future.
